A couple of months ago – in Tip # 665 – you learned about a friend who’s been to hell and back fighting cancer while also
dealing with the sudden death of her husband.
Amazingly, she seems to be beating the odds and improving. Prayers will help!
‘Grace’ (perhaps an apropos pseudonym) bought cancer insurance through her employer; collecting a few bucks about now would sure help.
Do you know what a UB04 Hospital Bill is? Or, an ‘HCFA 1500?’
A certain ‘Duck’ requires those (and more) when filing a claim. Want a sense of how ‘easy’ this process is? Click HERE.
Coincidentally, I sat through a webinar this week sponsored by a different insurer – one of our largest health insurance companies – in which they touted a stream-lined claims process for ‘Supplemental’ Insurance Plans triggered by the medical claims.
Translation; claims for your cancer surgery/meds/scans/therapies are already being processed
by your health insurer, so if you have cancer insurance with the same company, there’s no need for additional paperwork.
That’s in contrast to some of the better known ‘Supplemental’ insurance carriers, who quietly enjoy loss ratios ranging from 15-20%.
Great for their
bottom line. Not so great for ‘Grace.’
