In Tip # 519, I wrote about the Medicare Open Enrollment Period.
More on that topic in an excellent ‘Report’ HERE from the Wall Street Journal (10/18) entitled “8 Things to Know
When Picking a Medicare Plan.” (Apologies if you have to be a subscriber to access.)
Now comes the ‘Obamacare’ Annual Election Period.
Over the next 75 days (November 1 - January 15), you won’t see nearly as many celebrities touting options for those under 65 (not covered under an employer group plan).
Why does the expression “follow the money” come to mind? (And, why can’t I write a Tip without a little snark! Sorry.)
The Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner has just updated their interactive map showing the carriers offering coverage - county by county - for 2022. Well worth visiting HERE.
You’ll note there aren’t any new insurers in the individual market - although some have expanded their footprint into additional counties - and, that provider networks are key, given most (if not all) plans are HMO’s or EPO’s.
P.S. Back to the Medicare commercials. Did you notice? Joe Montana must have turned 65. (See Tip
#481.)
That ‘money’ is on Brett Favre being in Tip # 1197!
