HERE'S A BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL
Here’s a Blue Light Special
Three Tips, for the ‘price’ of one:
- The Kaiser Family Foundation just released its Private Employer Health Benefits Survey for 2020. We regularly refer their findings as a benchmark for clients’ costs. Some highlights:
- Single premiums for small firms averaged $622/month; family premiums, $1,703. Those seem about in line with what we see locally.
- Employees pay 17% of the premium for single coverage; 27% for family. Whoa! Locally, it’s more like 70/30 for employees and 50/50 for dependents.
- A Summary of the Survey can be found at this link.
- Only 40% of Wisconsinites get flu shots. Vaccines don’t increase the risk of, or prevent Covid-19, but healthier bodies fight Covid-19 better. And studies report fewer deaths for those who received a flu vaccine. (Source: MCW.)
3. The Medicare Open Enrollment Period started Thursday (10/15) and runs through December 7th. For an overview, go to CMS.gov. I tried to hack into their website to edit the line “Where can people find Medicare plan information or compare plans adding “or, The Rauser
Agency.”
Those folks just don’t have a sense of humor! I’ll need a little help with bail.
