I’ve written about this before.
Every two years, agents must take a three hour continuing education course in ethics. Foundational is the requirement that we explain the pros and cons of any purchase decision.
You know. The truth. The whole truth. And, nothing but the truth.
Example; a self-funded health plan may be a great ‘deal’ when everyone is healthy, but what happens if claims greatly exceed those in the sales projection?
Forewarned is forearmed.
Here’s another insurance regulation; my client’s interests must always be paramount.
In that context, here’s a friendly message to Tony, Donald, Nancy, Anthony and our other ‘leaders.’
My clients are scared shitless (pardon the technical term) about the pandemic and the economy. We understand you’re navigating uncharted waters, but you’re ‘selling’ us solutions without explaining the pros and cons. Not to mention, apparently you think we’re not smart enough to make the ‘purchase’ on our own. (Hint.
Hint.)
Many of us also believe our needs are being sacrificed for your political gain.
WTH! Please practice the same rules this lowly insurance agent is required to practice.
Or, we’ll revoke your license!
And yes, I’m really frustrated.
