I just typed Covid-19 into my email search bar. I won’t tell you how many emails on this subject came up from just this week. So, what could I possibly add to the conversation?
Well, an insurance Tip, of course! (Compliments Rich Robinson, Epic Life Insurance Company.)
“If someone is diagnosed with the coronavirus and is quarantined and has a doctor certifying that they are medically unable to work due to symptoms of the virus, they would be eligible to file an STD claim.”
“If someone has been in contact or exposed to the virus and is quarantined, we would consider this a leave of absence. They would need to consult with their employer for paid time off or other work accommodations that wouldn’t involve the employee coming into work. However, it would not meet the definition of a sickness or illness as
defined in the policy.”
Just about every other email or alert offers a link to the CDC for more information. Great content without third party filters; in particular, daily case counts here.
Beyond this, I’m tuning out all the soothsayers.
Never mind today is The Ides of March!
