Packers whuppin’ Sunday. Sure got that wrong.
My other prediction was a doubling of health insurance premiums in five years.
Then on Monday, Health System A received tax incremental financing from Menomonee Falls for the redevelopment of the old Ernie von Schledorn auto dealership into a new hospital. Really; TIF on top of non-profit status? Oh well, “who do you know wants to ‘build’ a hospital?”
Tuesday, Health System B announced the building of another hospital in Wauwatosa. Actually, they’re just acquiring a poorly performing property - now owned by Health System A - opened in 2004 as The Heart Hospital. (Musical hospitals!)
Reviewing Certificate of Need laws, should they be revived?
Wednesday, I caught this string of ads (interrupted by all that annoying news; i.e., Welcome to The Pharma Show, brought to you by The NBC Evening News): “Ask your doctor about . . . . Xeljanz . . . . Eliquis . . . . Brilinta . . . . Piqray . . . . Humira . . . . Otezla . . . . Xofluza.”
Time to ban direct to consumer advertising?
Hate regulations? (Me too, normally.)
But at this week’s pace, premiums could triple!
