Two “bold” predictions.
Last weekend I read a fascinating story in the WSJ detailing Google’s partnerships with some of the country’s largest hospital systems. (If time permits, get to know Dr. David Feinberg in this Forbes
article.)
Altruistically, armed with data, providers should be able to better predict procedures patients might need. However, behind closed doors at one health system (with a huge footprint in Wisconsin), this is also seen as a way to identify “missed opportunities for revenue.”
Then Tuesday we saw headlines about another local health system announcing their bold plans to double revenues by 2025.
We’ve just wrapped up the fourth quarter open enrollment season. During this stretch, we’ve done countless employee meetings and helped hundreds of people transition to new plans or insurers.
The feedback we get from those meetings is consistent; i.e., why don’t those evil for profit insurance companies just pay my claims and leave me alone.
Fine.
Then expect your premiums to double by 2025.
“Bold” prediction number two; Packers 34 – 49’ers 27.
