This morning I had what became a testy ‘chat’ with my dry cleaner about a shirt that is only occasionally worn but now has a small hole in the collar.
I wanted him to know I was concerned the starch he is using, or his equipment, may be too hard on the 100% cotton dress shirts I favor. (Shirley MacLaine and I were in the
textile trades in another life!)
Unfortunately, I think he assumed (incorrectly) I was looking for money. He got defensive saying the shirt was old, the hole was from normal wear and “it wasn’t his problem!”
While this anecdote may not have anything to do with insurance, it has everything to do with our service business.
By bringing this up to my dry cleaner, I thought I was being helpful.
I’d ask the same of you. Lord knows, none of us are perfect. In our work together, we may fall short of your (and often, my) expectations. If you don’t tell us, how will we know?
Dawn Devlin, Cindy Lane, Eric Miller, myself and the entire Rauser Agency/Robertson Ryan team are here to serve.
And we understand, your problems are our problems.
