Last week I mentioned recently getting a flu shot and Covid booster. The pharmacist that day referenced some database that showed it had been a long time since my last TD vaccine (Tetanus-Diptheria). Really? How long?
And wait. What database? (Not that I don’t think everything about me is already ‘out there’
in a ‘Cloud’ somewhere!)
Have you ever heard of the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR)?
Click on that link. Enter your name, dob, etc. and
voila!
Not only does it show my vaccine history going back almost 20 years, but also what vaccines are recommended.
What the heck. I haven’t had a Tetanus shot since 2006! Do I really need a Varicella vaccine; i.e., Chicken Pox?!
Next step is to log into MyChart to ask my PCP about this. (He’ll be super thrilled to get yet another one of those “Ask Your Doctor About . . . . . .” inquiries!)
I would go back to WIR and enter George Orwell, 6-25-1984, but I’m a little afraid what might happen.
