Tip # 646
CAN YOU RELATE TO THIS?
I’ll keep this short.
According to one recent survey, 51% of adults put off or avoid altogether routine exams and health screenings.
51%!!
Their excuses; general dislike for going to the doctor’s office (true); the time commitment including a conflict with work hours (not so much); insurance issues (huh? a foundational feature of Obamacare is that
preventive visits are covered at 100%); fear of hearing bad news (guilty, as charged!).
To wit.
Had some lab work this week. But only after cancelling an earlier appointment.
Then I got the Notice from MyChart; “New Test Results Available.” No rush. I’ll get
to it.
Must be the Foghorn Leghorn gene in me.
Kidding aside, click HERE to learn more about health anxiety from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America
