WHEN IS RIGHT WRONG?
Last week, in Tip # 641 (HERE), I suggested while inflation may be cooling in some sectors, not so much in health care.
Coincidentally, this is the time of year when the ‘tombstone’ ads (in some cases, apropos) for Hospital Price Increases run.
In Friday’s paper, one Health System “proposed” to raise daily Room & Board rates +18.16%; Mammography Screening + 20.06%!
Take that, Jerome Powell.
Two weeks ago, in my often snarky fashion, I invited Private Equity Companies to start buying
veterinary practices because the cost of pet care was too low. (Tip 640, HERE.)
Several Tips friends noted that ship has sailed!
Then I read about one of the largest Pet Insurers dropping coverage for about 100,000 pets (out of 1.2 MM) around the country, “blaming the rising costs of veterinary care.”
Coincidence?
Thus the title of today’s Tip.
There’s no joy in being right about a trend that is so wrong.
