WHAT ARE THOSE "WISCONSIN BENCHMARKS?"
Another Friday Business Journal suggests another Tip topic.
Thanks Rich Kirchen for reporting on the first year
results achieved by a business health care “coalition” of 15 Milwaukee area self-funded employers (with 5,000 employees). To wit, “23% to 36% savings compared to Wisconsin benchmarks.”
A
skeptic might observe that’s always the case for nascent health care pools.
Let’s see how they’re doing when the claims start to hit.
But I digress. Back to the article.
The
“Wisconsin benchmark” phrase reminded me of a recent email from a Tips pal (thanks, Cathy) that included this LINK to the 2023 Milliman Medical Index.
I gladly yield what’s left of my 30 Seconds so you can visit their site.
Don’t miss the drop down boxes where you enter ‘Metropolitan Statistical Area’ and then the number of family members.
Example: total cost of health care for a Milwaukee-Waukesha family of four is $55.6K.
Then enter Cleveland ($51.0K). Or, Phoenix ($45.7K). Et al.
Nice (?) to see we’re still on
top!
